Made of heavy duty steel, the Matheson Push-Pull Sled measures safe performance of these demands in a clinical setting. Results can be compared to the known demands of a job or to the functional normative values published in "The design of manual handling tasks: revised tables of maximum acceptable weights and forces" by Snook and Ciriello in 1991.
Design features include grip handle adjustment to accommodate two different testing heights (35" and 37"), a built-in bracket for attaching a force gauge, and polyurethane runners for use on carpeted surfaces. Evaluators find the ease of loading weights a significant safety and labor-saving feature. The Matheson Sled is designed to store easily while taking up minimal space in a clinic, and weighs 21 lbs.
