Roy Matheson & Associates

In 1988, Roy Matheson founded Roy Matheson & Associates.

The organization grew from the research and clinical work being developed through the Matheson family's occupational rehabilitation programs.

Roy built the world-renowned organization around professional education and resources for clinicians working in functional capacity evaluation, work rehabilitation, ergonomics, and return-to-work practice.

Bringing Ideas Into Practice

Roy understood that developing a new clinical approach was only part of the challenge.

For an idea to influence clinical practice, professionals needed to be able to learn it, understand it, and apply it.

Through workshops, training programs, certification, professional resources, and mentoring, Roy helped introduce rehabilitation professionals to developing approaches in functional evaluation and occupational rehabilitation.

In 2007, Erin and Jon Matheson established Matheson Development to develop, manufacture, and distribute rehabilitation equipment.

The creation of Matheson Development continued the connection between clinical ideas and practical tools that had characterized the Matheson organizations for decades.

Roy's Legacy

Roy Matheson's contribution extends beyond the organization that carried his name.

He helped demonstrate the importance of professional education in advancing rehabilitation practice.
